NFL DRAFT - We Cans Be Wrong - The Visitors Section

This week on the Visitors Section we discuss how things went so terribly wrong and why we just don’t care. If we all just too the time to listen to Jon Gruden, we would know that Tyrann Mathieu is a golden god. New York is about to get interesting with the Jets holding six quarterbacks currently and where the hell were the experts this week? Can they really be called experts at this point?

NFL Mock Draft - Visitors Section Approved (the podcast)

On this weeks episode of the Visitors Section we go through our mock draft and talk the latest football news. And when you come to the mistakes we've made or trades that have been made prior to the draft, give us a little bit leeway. These things are a lot harder to come up with than you'd imagine. That being said we hope you enjoy this week's episode.

#1 Chiefs
M: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M - I wrote about this a long long time ago. It isn't a sexy pick, it isn't an exciting pick. Justin Higdon on last week's show brought up some concerns about drafting a guy first in the draft and him starting on right side. Of course if you ship out your left tackle before the draft, you don't have to worry about that do you? Regardless, this is the pick if the Chiefs stay at one. I'm sure there's talk of moving down. I'm sure there are plans on paper to try and maximize their value. I just don't think they'll be the ones to pull it off.
J: Luke Joeckel, OT, Teaxs A&M - We go up and down, up and down. Haven't seen so much name movement for the first overall pick in awhile. If the Chiefs look to trade down with the Jags, Eagles, Browns, or maybe the Bills. The Chiefs would still get Joeckel or his equivalent, Eric Fisher, while adding draft picks. It is smart... maybe too smart for the Chiefs.

#2 Jaguars
M: Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon - If I could just type TRADE I would. The Jags are missing so many pieces you'd think my daughter had been building their team. It's nice to have speed and it's nice to pressure the quarterback, things the Jaguars just don't do.
J: Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon - TRADE DOWN! The Jag-You-Ars are in need of any type of pass rush. They could drop down to 28th overall and still get a better pass rusher than they have on the roster right now. Along with an Outside Linebacker, they need: QB, OT, CB, S, DE, DT, OG, C, WR, TE, and then maybe a RB. As a man from Tropia would say, " GOOD LUCK ".

#3 Raiders
J:  Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah   - It is in the Star(s). Damn, that is so stupid.--Boring.
M: Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida- I can’t find the words to tell you how much I hate this pick. Both for the Raiders and for me giving in and putting it in my mock. The Jags feel like they are in a better position to move back but the Raiders could be the ones to finally pull off that "oh so elusive" trade down.

#4 Eagles
M- Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB, BYU -To be completely honest if Geno Smith is available there is going to be a serious conversation between drafting the QB and Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah. Again if Smith is available he is the pick. I am really expecting the Bills to try and jump up get him. So why Ezekial Ansah then? Panic. Sheer panic.
J: Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia  - New Head Coach, New Quaterback, New things Philly Fans can get pissed about. Vick and Dixon are not long term answers. Foles has a clipboard.

#5 Lions
J: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan - Lions need a Tackle. They get one and he doesn't even have to move very far away from home.  If Fisher is some how gone, Sooners Offensive Tackle, Lane Johnson, will do just fine. One way or the other the Lions are getting a damn Tackle.
M: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington - What a terrible pick. Look the Lions are fucking up my whole draft. I'm just going to own it. Look how I have Milliner going after Trufant now! Christ what am I thinking? This is awful. Okay, I got it. The Lions don't pick. Then Ndamukong Suh kicks somebody. No one knows why. The Lions are forced by the league to forfeit their pick to a more responsible franchise. Mock draft saved.

#6 Browns
J: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama -  Browns take the Alabama Cornerback. Some argue that he might not be the top one in this class but what not is in question is if he was the coached the best.
M: Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama - When you build a team it helps if you can do one thing well, doesn't matter really what but you have to have a thing. Something that people can point to and say "That team really has a strong    (blank)   ." Right now people just look at the Browns with a    (blank)    stare.

#7 Cardinals
J: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma - Who had an offensive line that was like Kanye West’s pinhole poked condom?  Yes, Cardinals that would be you. Lane goes in and starts right away. Too bad they won’t be able to clone four more of him.
M: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan - Nothing like a offensive tackle to get your heart pumping.

The face of unadulterated joy at being the newest member of the Buffalo Bills.
#8 Bills
M: Geno Smith, QB West Virginia - The Bills get their man, not at the 8th pick in the draft, but they get their man. Look I've been wrong before and I'm cool with it.
J: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama - Much speculation about whether or not the Bills take Ryan Nassib here. Why? Get him in the 2nd round or later, where he belongs. Take the best guard in the draft to keep Kolb on the field.

#9 Jets
J: Barkevious Mingo, OLB, LSU - Can we just get to the end of the season where the Jets fire Rex Ryan?
I can't remember. Have I held out this year or was that just every single year before this one?
M: Tavon Austin, WR, West VirginiaIt isn't Mark Sanschez that is bad, its just that no one on the rest of the team is any good. To be fair the Jets have been unable to develop a solid slot receiver since New York jettisoned Brad Smith. If you're the Jets and their inept as shit offense then you know there have to be some changes. Maybe you can push for a newer and more improved baby's blanket in tight end Tyler Eifert, but this draft is going to be defined by some very difficult lessons for the Jets. One being cap management. The other coming to the realization that no one wants your players for what you paid for them. For those of you on the Revis to Bucs for a 1st round pick in this year's draft, here's how that's going to play out. The Bucs aren't going to trade this years pick because they want to trade next years pick. They'll stall and demand that Revis goes through a lengthy medical physical to assure themselves of the health of his right knee. They're one of the few teams with the fifteen million of requisite cap room to take on that piss ant's cap number and they'll just wait the Jets out. The draft will come and the draft will go and the Jets will not have Tampa's 2013 first round draft pick. And then guess what, either New York will take the scraps they were offered for two months before the draft or Revis and the Jets will dig in and accept what they are.

#10 Titans
J:  Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida  - Floyd has somehow made it to the top of  draft expert's mock drafts. I can not have him over Star Lotulelei. Also, I think Richardson and Williams are better defensive tackles-- Peer Pressure is a bitch.
M: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina - I still can't believe Bruce Matthews is Clay Matthews uncle. That makes me hate both of them more.

#11 Chargers
J: Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina - Many are saying that the Chargers will trade up to get one of the top 3 tackles. In order to do that, they would need another team to care to help them. I don’t see that happening.  The Chargers need help along the whole offensive line.
M: J: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma- I'm sorry this draft is so boring you have to hear about how offensive tackles could be three of the first seven off the board. That speaks a lot to the quality of this draft. Remember when peope start talking about how much depth there is at a specific position what they're really saying is "We're really not excited about any one of them in particular. They're all kind of the same."

#12 Dolphins
J: Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB, BYU  Do you read the Bible, Brett ? Well, I got a passage that I remember, kinda fits this situation. Ezekiel 25:17: 'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides with the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.'
M: Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU - Why don't I trust any player that comes out of LSU for about the last decade? They all seem to have a touch of the Satans.

#13 Buccaneers
J: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State - Will this Revis deal ever get done?  If it doesn’t -- Taking a cornerback makes the most sense here. Only because when there is five seconds left in the game and the opposing team is kneeling to kill the clock. The Bucs can feel better about it.. If it is the Jets picking here, why not take Rhodes to replace the guy you sent out ?
M: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame- Imagine what a B- quarterback Josh Freeman could be if he had weapons? Intimidating.

#14 Panthers
J: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Mizzou - Carolina needs are an offensive line, cornerback, and the entire defensive front. Invest in the trenches.
M: Sheldon Richardson, DT, Mizzou - I personally see the Cowboys trying to land Richardson but with them sitting at number eighteen currently it is going to be difficult. If you're the Panthers are you comfortable waiting until the middle of the second round for a corner?

#15 Saints
J: Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia - Have the Saints ever had an edge pass rush that they didn’t pay out of pocket for? Jones could be their first. With the help of Rob ‘The Drunker Twin’ Ryan.
M: Arthur Brown, ILB/OLB, Kansas State - Arthur Brown is the first way for me to say to Billy, no Manti Te'o for you. You should be happy about that. There are thirty one teams in the league who are gonna walk away from this draft feeling pretty good about the fact they don't have Manti Te'o. I hope very much I am one of those people.

#16 Rams
J: Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia - Lost Amendola? Replace him with a better athlete. From speed to elusiveness, Austin is exciting to watch and the Rams would like to employ him.
M: Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas- Mack Brown strikes again. He is tricking people into drafting his maladjusted group of spoiled underachievers again. How does this man do it? We all know what we're signing on for, but it just keeps happening. Hell I have another Longhorn in the first round. I'm no better. Worse even. He got me twice!

#17 Steelers
J: Kenny Vaccaro, FS, Texas - Oh, Steeler fans! You would love a Wideout or a Runningback here, wouldn't you? NO! Not for you.  You have Plax. Are you not entertained?! ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?  They have Hines Ward on emergency button "A", If you want to keep talking.
M: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA- Mel gave this guy I've never heard of a nickname before the draft and has been droning on about him every time I bump into the Kiper at the Washateria. I hate the Washateria and I hate the Steelers. I pick with my heart because I'm emotionally unstable.

#18 Cowboys
J: Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina - I cannot wait to hear Mike Mayock spray this name. “Suckering suckertash”. Cowboys are in talks with Eric Winston to help out on that QB killing machine called The O Line. Changing to the 4-3 Defense starts off with ditching the losers and bringing in the new guy.
M: Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama - This is the saddest pick on the board. The Cowboys want to do something so badly. They want to hear everyone praise the name of god's team again. Attention. Praise. They want love. If they're making this pick it means that one of the best linemen available has fallen down the board because scouts and front office guys got too tied up with positional value. You know what two sad, desperate people need? Each other.

#19 Giants
J: Cornellius (Tank) Carradine, DE, Florida State - The guy's name is 'Tank' and The G-Men are making no bones about the fact they LOVE defensive ends. Especially ones named Tank. Watch the 49ers trade with the Cowboys to snag this guy away. Jim Harbaugh is laughing, while yelling, while crying, while fist pumping, while complaining, while never using the marker that hangs around his neck to write the words " Eat. My. Shorts." on the walls of a bathroom stall.
M: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia - Because who doesn't like like late second round talent in the middle of the first? Now I sound like them don't I?

#20 Bears
J: Alec Ogletree, ILB, Georgia - Mike Mayock said Blaine Gabbert was going to be a great NFL QB. When I heard Mayock talk the most shit about a player, my ears perked up. For the fact, It will only mean that Ogletree will be a pretty decent player in the years to come. Alec fits what the Bears are looking for.
M: Justin Pugh, OG, Syracuse - Everyone like guards.

#21 Bengals
M: Giovani Bernard, RB, North Carolina - Because Eddie Lacy is all promise, projections and fairy-tale princess farts.
J:  D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama - With Andre Smith still unsigned, The Bengals would be foolish not to just go ahead and take Fluker. Offensive Lineman love the way this 2013's draft is going.

#22 Rams
J: John Cyprien, S, Florida International - The Rams would line out their needs with taking a safety here. As long as the Bengals don't go for him first.
M: Keenan Allen, WR, California - I'm not even sure the Rams really need a wide receiver.I mean they have Austin Pettis.

#23 Vikings
J: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee - You can't replace a guy like, Percy Harvin. There is only so many ways to put the Injured Reserve mark on a player. The Vikings learned to live without Harvin. Only to realize that they had vomit, in human form, split out wide. Can't throw to the tight end on every passing play. Opposing teams will start to notice that crap. Ah, Hell-- Just give it to Peterson.
M: Johnathan Banks, CB, Mississippi State - The Vikings are about to illustrate how having two picks is a lot like having no picks. Remember when the Jets had four and built a whole team. That is not what Minnesota is shooting for here.

#24 Colts
J: Datone Jones, DE, UCLA - Can someone tell me a player's name on the Colts defense? No, Bob Sanders doesn't play there anymore. No, Dwight Freeney doesn't either.
M: Alex Okafor, DE, Texas - The tweets should be amazing.

#25 Vikings
J: Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame - Minter and Brown are the better pick than Te'o but for some reason people keep saying Te'o plays fast. I did not see fast. What I did see was Te'o getting exposed versus Alabama. I believe theVikings are in a nickel type defensive package 60% of the time. Why would you draft a 'two down' linebacker? You're the Vikings, that is why.
M: Kawaan Short, DT Purdue- I like the Vikings pick here. I've never heard of this guy and he fits a need that would be better addressed through free agency or in the later rounds. Very solid "Vikings" pick here.

#26 Packers
J: Menelik Watson, OT, Florida State - The rush defense is just as bad as the offensive line. Your pipes are leaky, Son. Ted Thompson told me to shut up and winked. As he closed the door to his personal office bathroom. I saw the Clay Matthews FatHead by the mirror.
M: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama - And they do it again. How does this happen year after year? Player that complements what they do, addresses a need, safe smart pick. Cheap. It isn't fair. Where are your Da'Quan Bowers? Your Heath Shulers? Your Vernon Gholston's !?(Try moving him to DE in Madden 2008 Then you'll understand the pick)

#27 Texans
M: Cordarrelle Patterson, WR Tennessee - I think the general consensus is that the Texans are walking away with a WR from the University of Tennessee the question is which one. If Patterson isn't available its a strong possibility that the pick is Justin Hunter. I am not as high on Patterson as others and wouldn't be surprised if he's still on the board for Houston.
J: Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee - Talk, Talk, Talk, Talk. Hunter is talked about that is for sure. Big Player, Fast player, NFL Player. He has the tools.  Robert Woods ? Keenan Allen ? Not in this first round.

#28 Broncos
M: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida StateBecause overachieving white players need to be Broncos. That is not a racist statement. That sir is a statement of fact.
J: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State - Yeah, I got nothing. I am getting a Fax. Be right back.

#29 Patriots
J: Margus Hunt, DE, SMU - Still looking in the distance for a Pass Rusher. The sun is setting. Screams from the fans to the media, echoes the question. When will the Pats start to pick like they actully give a shit and take the draft seriously? Maybe Hunt can play wide receiver that helps Welk... ERRRR, Amendola get open? Maybe? Huh? No? Give it a thought.
M: John Cyprien, S, Florida International - The New England Patriots: Turning positive feelings for players into negative ones since 1999.

#30 Falcons
J: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington - A Grimes-less Falcon squad, A Dunta-gone secondary. Pretty sure they will be taking a corner that can play right away. No Marcus jokes.
M: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State - If betting on Kent State Men's Basketball has taught me anything its that when you lose money on something you can't chase that loss with another emotional bet. You also can't make the exact same bet again and believe that the outcome will be different this time around. Xavier Rhodes, you're on notice. You're Kent State.

#31 49ers
J: Matt Elam, S, Florida - The 49ers might as well send out an Amber Alert that they are wanting to make a move up but in the event they do not, they will take a safety. Elam is the last one left on the first round train.
M: Star Lotulelei, DL, Utah - No I don't see the 49ers landing Lotulelei with the 31st pick in the draft but I think they are a real threat to move up if Lotulelei starts to drop down the board. San Francisco has a bevy of picks and not a lot to use them on.

#32 Ravens
J: Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU - If you play to win the game, what does drafting do?
M: DeAndre Hopkins, WR Clemson - Because Tajh Boyd is the slowest fast quarterback to ever play the game.

*J: I am pissed off that "acing" the interview at the combine translates to a sure first round pick. Cheers Manti, Cheers.
*M: I have Jarvis Jones, OLB, dropping out of the first round of the draft due to spinal stenosis.  I have Manti Teo dropping because he is soft and stupid.

NFL Draft Mock - Visitors Section Approved

J: Dion Jordan, OLB, Oregon - TRADE DOWN! The Jags feel like they are in a better position to move back but the Raiders could be the ones to finally pull off that "oh so elusive" trade down.

#4 Eagles
